Her images are made of the views from hotel rooms while travelling, using paper and biros from the room. They reveal details that the distracted traveller might have missed in his rush to see tourist sights highlighted in tourist guides

Starts with a photo as a reference and then breaks it down into small squares, reducing it to its simplest elements. He has used up to 28 blocks to create one print and a print can take up to two years to complete

He has invented whole new worlds, including the painstakingly detailed and engrossing drawings of the fictional metropolis Nobson Newtown. Undercutting the precise, technical drawing is a dark satirical narrative which unfolds in the micro-cosmos of these monumental works. Abstract Capitalist Realism, the title of the series to which this painting belongs, flirts between ideas of Abstraction and Pop, citing Capitalist Realism, an art movement in Germany that paralleled early pop and presented a viable alternative to the commodity fetishism which became the hallmark of the genre.
